Lloyd expressed, “I think art is open. It can be anything, many things, things that move out of the gallery into the environment where millions of people can see them.” The artist demonstrated this sentiment in his use of Buick backup-light lenses and Christmas light bulbs; the titles of his sculptures, which he named after racehorses, including Telaunt; and his choice of light as a medium, which he would have seen in abundance in the traffic lights and marquees of his home of New York City.
